End of Year Results 2015-2016

Here you will find information about our school’s results in the statutory assessments at the end of the academic year in 2015-16.

In 2016 we were particularly pleased with the following:

At the end of Foundation Key Stage (Reception):

  • the percentage of pupils achieving a Good Level of Development (GLD) is in line with the national average 70% National Average 69%

In the Phonics screening test (Year 1 & 2):

  • the percentage of children reaching the required standard is in line with the national average. 80% National Average 81%
  • the results for those pupils who re-take the phonics test at the end of Year 2 is above the national average 71% National Average67%

In Key Stage 1 (Year 2):

  • the percentages of pupils achieving the expected standard and high standard in Reading was above the national average
  • the percentages of pupils achieving the expected standard and high standard in Writing was above the national average
  • the percentages of pupils achieving the expected standard and high standard in Maths was above the national average

In Key Stage 2 (Year 6): Results Overview

  • the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard and high standard in Reading, Writing and Maths was above the national average
  • the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard and high standard in Writing was above the national average
  • the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in Reading was in line with the national average
  • the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in Maths was in line with the national average
  • The progress measure for writing was significantly above the national average and in the top 10%

As a school we are constantly striving for improvement. Overall our results in 2016 are good with some areas of outstanding attainment within the key stages. As part of our school improvement planning we have identified key focus areas that will be targeted this academic year to maintain the standards and improve even further.  Click here to read our School Improvement Overview for parents.

The key focus areas include:

  • maintaining the improvements in Foundation Key Stage outcomes and the Year 1& 2 Phonics test; aiming to further close the gap to national averages
  • maintain the outcomes at the end of Key Stage One (Year 2)
  • raise standards in GPS throughout school
  • more children to achieve the high standard in Key Stage 2 in Reading and Maths
  • improve outcomes in disadvantaged children across the school
